Progress of the ECT Application in Dust-Air Explosibility Research

ABSTRACT

The paper presents Dust-Air Mixtures Combustion Testing System DAM-CTS being actually under realisation and the results of ECT application in the combustion process. It is modernisation of the standard system for testing of dust/air mixtures. We applied Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) for visualisation of explosive combustion processes in a vessel of constant volume. The results obtained justify the development of the system. We believe that this system will modify actually valid standard by addition of combustion process visualisation. Present standard is based on pressure changes in constant volume measurement and on derivative change calculation.
