ABSTRACT:

Introduction of perforated sieve plates into a bubble column has the effect of the hydrodynamic behavior. The objective of the paper is to study the influence of the sieve plates in the bubble column. The measurements were performed with superficial gas velocities Ug in the range 0.0267–0.225 m/s. the study in bubble columns of diameter D=0.282m with the airwater system is carried out. The gas holdup and its radial distribution above and under the plates of the bubble column are measured using Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT). The result shows a good agreement with the ones using differential pressure method and the doublesensor probe. The sieve plates influence the radial distribution of gas holdup and the total hydrodynamic behavior.
