ABSTRACT
Monitoring the multiphase flow behaviour in microchannel is very important in many medical and biochemical process. The precise flow rate control and well-defined channel geometries make it possible for us to make detailed investigation on microflow phenomena. This paper aims at the measurement of resistance of different cross-section in a microchannel to detect the liquid solid two- phase flow behaviour of the microfluids. Experimental results show that the electrical resistance of the microfluids can be significantly altered by the presence of non-conductive microsphere in liquid solid two-phase flow. At the same time, the flow pattern at different region of the microchannel can be estimated from spatial resistivity distribution in the cross-sections.
