Numerical investigation into the flow and heat transfer of liquid metal gallium nanofluids

ABSTRACT

A numerical study on the convective heat transfer of liquid metal gallium nanofluids flowing through a straight tube under laminar flow conditions has been performed by using a combined Euler and Lagrange method. The effects of nanoparticle concentration and Reynolds numbers are investigated on the flow and the convective heat transfer behaviour through a straight tube. The results show a significant enhancement of convective heat transfer with liquid metal gallium nanofluids.
