ABSTRACT
The contact between the electrodes of electrical resistance tomography and liquid may result in electrode corrosion, which limits the application of ERT in industry. This paper proposes a novel ERT system, based on capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection principle, to solve the problem. In order to test the feasibility of the new system, a simple senor, with working principle similar to the final target system, is built. The impedance between electrodes can be simplified as a series combination of a resistance and a capacitance. A LCR meter is used to measure the capacitance and the resistance at the same time. Test results show that the new system is feasible.
