Abstract

Low-frequency electromagnetic tomographic imaging techniques: Electrical impedance tomography (EIT), electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) and magnetic There are a number of potential applications for these three imaging modalities, where there is limited access to the targeted objects, making conventional circular array impractical. In this paper, planar array sensors for ECT, EIT and MIT are developed and proposed for 3D sub-surface imaging as a form of 'limited access tomography'. The sensor development, practical implication, capability and limitation of the proposed planar array are discussed. The experimental results will be shown for planar array 3D imaging.

Keywords: 3D electrical capacitance tomography; 3D electrical impedance tomography; 3D magnetic induction tomography; planar array; subsurface tomography; low frequency electromagnetic tomography.
