An input multiplexer for electrical capacitance tomography

Abstract

In this paper, we describe a prototype analogue input multiplexer for a capacitance measurement system. The multiplexer allows each electrode of a multi-electrode Electrical Capacitance Tomography sensor to be connected either to an excitation source, a capacitance measurement channel, ground or an open-circuit. The paper describes the design of the multiplexer and its measured performance.
