A Parallel Measurement Strategy for Electrical Capacitance Tomography

ABSTRACT


From point view of real time imaging and monitoring, measurement electronics with ultra fast data acquisition has been becoming a common interest for process tomography. A parallel measurement strategy for developing electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) with high data acquisition speed is presented. Using this new strategy, all capacitances between different electrode pairs can be measured simultaneously without switching excitation signal between different electrodes one bye one. For an N-electrodes ECT system, the data acquisition speed is improved (N 1) times.
