Temperature Field Reconstruction Based on Acoustic Travel-time Tomography

ABSTRACT


In this paper we develop an acoustic tomography system for small scale temperature field reconstruction. Fundamentals of acoustic tomography and practical details of the realization is presented, including the forward modelling, temperature field reconstruction, time-of-flight detection and calibration, and the data acquisition system implementation and experiment setup. The feasibility and effectiveness of the developed methods and system are validated in the experimental study. The results show that the proposed acoustic tomography system can resolve the temperature field distribution with good spatial and temporal resolution.
