ABSTRACT

With the advantages of non-invasion, non-radiation, low-cost, Ultrasound Tomography (UT) is suitable for the real-time visual measurement of heterogeneous medium like multiphase flow or biological tissue. As an imaging technique based on the hard field character, the accuracy of reconstruction results heavily depends on the amount of projected paths, which will increase the amount of probes assembled, introducing the problem of long computing time as well. In this paper, a Bilateral Filter Simultaneously Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (BF-SART) is proposed to solve the two dimensional UT problems. Through giving the consideration of both pixel position and pixel value, the proposed method could increase the reconstruction accuracy and the imaging purity. Furthermore, Scalar of the algebraic system for the solution of the inverse problem is significantly reduced by applying the offline-iteration method. Different phantom is applied in the numerical simulation, the result of which proves that the usage of the BF-SART can save the computational resources while increasing the imaging quality in the reconstruction of 2D inclusions.
