ABSTRACT
Further tests of an EVT4 data acquisition system for electrical capacitance tomography are presented. An architecture of the hardware based on fast programmable devices and multi gigabit serial transmission is focused on high frame rate required in dynamic imaging. The modular system can have up to 32 channels with an individual analogue to digital converter in 8 front-end boards. The system performance in the context of 3D imaging was verified. 3D sensor design which results in inter-electrode capacitance values measurable by the data acquisition system was used. In particular, we show that the measurement of changes in capacitance for the most distant cross-plane electrodes in a suitably designed 3D sensor with 32 electrodes is possible using presented system. The results of 3D image reconstruction for a simple test object are shown.
