ABSTRACT

This report provides an overview of the activities of the ISIPT Focussed Symposium Series event held at Imperial College London in April 2017. The ‘Sandpit Workshop’ free format was chosen to address the important topic of Real-time State and Performance from IPT Data for Process Control. Introductory sessions explored the two facets of IPT and advanced Process Control from current ‘state of the art’ viewpoints. The paper describes the programme of activities: the mutual introductions to share knowledge between technology developers and users; a review of possible opportunities and their benefits; and finally the requirements to realise these. The major workshop sessions deployed three groups of expert delegate to address specific business and industry sectors, their opportunities in in terms of possible benefits of IPT information and the realisation needs.
